Every skilled trade
Carpenter, electrician, plumber, bricklayer, blacksmith and many more. Figurines designed specifically for each trade with the details a newly qualified journeyman will recognise and remember for years.
Delivery to your deadline
The journeyman celebration has a fixed date. Provide the date when ordering — we confirm the delivery time and make sure you are ready for the presentation, whether you need one figurine or twenty.
Why companies choose Udlært
A journeyman celebration is not just the end of an education — it is the documentation of years of practical training, trade exams and professional development. A gift from employer to journeyman, from master to journeyman or from the school to the whole class sends a clear signal: the effort has been seen, the trade is recognised, and the transition from apprentice to journeyman is marked with dignity.
At Udlært we design and produce trade-specific figurines for all the classic skilled trades. Every figurine is created with the details that spark instant recognition — not just for the journeyman, but for everyone in the room who knows the trade. It is the kind of gift that is still on display ten years later.
Which companies order journeyman gifts from Udlært
We supply journeyman gifts to companies, institutions and organisations across all the classic skilled trades. What they all have in common is a wish to mark the journeyman celebration in a way that reflects professional pride and professional recognition.
Craft and construction companies are our primary business customers — electrical contractors, plumbing firms, carpentry firms, master bricklayers and blacksmith businesses with one or more journeymen qualifying every year. A gift from master to journeyman is one of the strongest recognitions a newly qualified tradesperson can receive.
Vocational schools and educational institutions — technical colleges and training centres — have classes of students who all finish on the same date. A class of 15-25 newly qualified carpenters, electricians or plumbers all receiving the same trade-specific figurine is a strong and simple gesture from the school. We handle bulk orders and deliver to an agreed date.
Trade unions and industry organisations wishing to honour new journeymen as part of a presentation ceremony or professional event. A trade-specific figurine as recognition from the professional community is a strong signal that craftsmanship is celebrated — not only by the company, but by the whole trade.
Municipalities and public institutions with their own apprentice and vocational programmes, wishing to mark the qualification professionally and with respect for the trade that has been mastered.
Common to all: invoice payment, no minimum order and delivery to your specific date.
Journeyman gifts for vocational schools and institutions
Vocational schools are a special group of buyers. A class of carpenters, electricians or plumbers all passing their journeyman's exam on the same day is an obvious occasion for a collective gesture from the school — one figurine per student, presented at a joint ceremony. It takes planning, but we make it simple.
What we offer vocational schools and institutions:
- Trade-specific figurines for all the classic vocational trades — carpenter, electrician, plumber and sheet metal worker, bricklayer, blacksmith and many more
- Combined delivery to an agreed date — we coordinate with you and explicitly confirm whether we can make it
- Invoice to the school or institution — net 14 days, CVR required
- No minimum order — you can order for one class or for all of the year's graduates
- Option of a fixed annual agreement if you graduate classes on an ongoing basis
It doesn't have to be complicated. Contact us with the trade, number of students and date — we handle the rest.

The journeyman celebration tradition — and the company's role
The journeyman celebration is one of the oldest traditions in Danish craftsmanship. It is the day an apprentice is officially recognised as a journeyman — and it is a day that matters in a trade tradition stretching far back. For the company, it is an opportunity to affirm the investment made in the training: the years of practical apprenticeship, the hours on the building site or in the workshop, and the responsibility that comes with taking an apprentice under your wing.
A trade-specific journeyman gift from the company is more than a gesture. It is a recognition of the concrete craft that has been mastered — and a signal that the company sees it as a celebration, not just a formality. That kind of tribute is remembered. It tells the newly qualified journeyman something about the company he or she is part of.
Udlært was founded with the purpose of making figurines that honour exactly that craftsmanship. Every trade has its own hallmarks, its own tools and its own professional pride — and that is reflected in the figurines we design. Not generic tradesperson figurines, but figurines designed specifically for the trade they represent.
Tax and deductions — the journeyman gift is tax-free
In the view of the Danish Tax Agency, a journeyman gift from employer to employee is an occasional gift — a gift given for a special occasion connected to the private sphere, including the completion of an education. This means:
- Tax-free for the employee — occasional gifts are not counted towards the general threshold of 1,400 kr./year and are not taxed
- Fully deductible for the company — the expense can be deducted as an operating cost in the company's tax accounts
Keep the invoice and note the purpose (journeyman gift on qualification, date and recipient) as documentation. We recommend consulting your accountant in case of doubt, as the rules can vary depending on company type and situation.

Frequently asked questions
Can we pay by invoice as a company?
Yes. We issue invoices to companies with net 14-day payment terms. Provide your company name and CVR number in the contact form and we will send an invoice with the order confirmation. No prepayment and no card payment — a clean business flow from start to finish.
Is there a minimum order for companies?
No. You can order one figurine for one newly qualified journeyman, or twenty figurines for a larger journeyman celebration. We handle both with the same service and attention. Contact us with the quantity you need and we will find the best solution.
Can we get the figurine in time for the journeyman celebration?
State the date of the journeyman celebration in your enquiry. We state the delivery time explicitly and confirm whether we can make it — we are used to working towards a specific date. If you need express delivery or a shorter lead time than normal, mention it in the message field.
Which skilled trades do you cover?
We have trade-specific figurines for carpenters, electricians, plumbers and sheet metal workers, bricklayers, blacksmiths and many other skilled trades. See the full range under all journeyman gifts. If you are missing a particular trade, you are welcome to ask — we expand continually.
Can we order every year for our journeymen on a fixed basis?
Yes — and that is the solution many companies prefer. If you have journeymen qualifying at fixed times every year, we can agree a standing order model so you don't have to start from scratch each time. Contact us and we will find an arrangement that fits your rhythm and your number of journeymen.
