Udlært is a Danish web shop specialising in personal journeyman gifts for skilled tradespeople. We design and produce figurines for carpenters, electricians, plumbers and sheet metal workers, bricklayers, blacksmiths and mechanics — all created to mark the transition from apprentice to skilled tradesperson. Every figurine is designed with professional recognisability in focus and can be personalised with an engraving. Udlært was founded by Henrik Beck and has produced journeyman gift figurines since 2013.

The figurines are created as journeyman gifts for newly qualified tradespeople and are ideal gifts from family, friends, masters, colleagues or companies. They are typically given at the journeyman celebration, at the end of the apprenticeship or as an official gesture from the workplace to a newly qualified employee. Whether you are buying as a private individual or a company, the figurine is meant as a lasting memento of the professional achievement.

We have journeyman gift figurines for: Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber and Sheet Metal Worker, Bricklayer, Blacksmith and Car Mechanic. The range is continually being expanded with new trades. If you can't find the trade you're looking for, you're welcome to contact us — we're happy to look into a custom solution.

Our primary focus is the skilled trades, but we are continually expanding the range. Feel free to contact us if there is a trade you would like that is not yet in the range. In some cases we make custom products for other educations and professions.

We offer our journeyman gift figurines in two sizes. The 16 cm figurine is the classic compact size — perfect as a personal gift from family or friends, easy to wrap and transport, and well suited to a desk or shelf. The 24 cm figurine is the larger premium version — more imposing and detailed, and especially popular as an official journeyman gift from a workplace or as a striking tribute from the family. Both sizes come in an exclusive gift box and can be personalised with an engraving.

For a personal gift from family or friends we recommend the 16 cm figurine — it is compact, price-friendly and still highly detailed. For an official journeyman gift from a company, a guild organisation or as a special tribute we recommend the 24 cm figurine, which makes a more imposing impression and signals that the occasion is something special. Both are popular choices — it comes down to occasion and budget.

You are free to choose the engraving text within reasonable limits — there are no fixed templates. Most people choose a name and year (e.g. "Mads Jensen - 2026"), but you can also write a personal greeting, a short sentence or a combination. The text can be a maximum of 40 characters, and short, simple texts generally give the sharpest and best-looking result on the figurine.

You enter the text directly on the product page, in the "Personal engraving" field, before adding the item to your basket. The text follows your order and is also shown on the order confirmation, so you can double-check that everything is correct. Remember to check spelling and year before ordering — the engraving is carried out exactly as provided.

Contact us as soon as possible at info@udlaert.dk if you wish to change the text after ordering. We can correct it as long as the order has not gone into production. Engravings that have already been carried out cannot be changed, as the figurine has been custom-made for you.

Figurines with personal engraving ship within 2–5 business days of ordering — the engraving typically adds 1–2 business days to the normal delivery time of 1–3 business days. You will receive an email with track-and-trace when the parcel has shipped, so you can follow the delivery.

Personal engraving costs 210 kr for the 16 cm figurine and 230 kr for the 24 cm figurine. The engraving is selected directly on the product page and added to the basket as a separate add-on to your figurine. It is optional — the figurine can also be delivered without engraving.

Yes — all our journeyman gift figurines come in an exclusive gift box, completely ready for presentation. The gift box is included in the price and is designed as an integral part of the product. You don't need to wrap the figurine further — it arrives ready to give at the journeyman celebration or the family gathering.

Our standard delivery includes the exclusive gift box as standard. If you would like additional packaging or a special presentation, you are welcome to contact us at info@udlaert.dk and we will find a solution.

Yes — all our journeyman gift figurines are available in both a male version and a female version. You select the gender directly on the product page under the "Gender" option. Both versions are designed with professional recognisability and the same level of detail — the only difference is the figurine's appearance and proportions.

The figurines come in one standard version with a focus on the professional expression rather than individual physical features. This gives a clean, elegant result that suits everyone. If you have special requests, you are welcome to contact us.

You order directly through the web shop at udlaert.dk. Choose trade and gender, enter your engraving text in the field if you wish, and add the figurine to your basket. Payment is made securely online, and you immediately receive an order confirmation by email with a summary of your order including the engraving text.

Figurines without engraving normally ship within 1–3 business days. Figurines with personal engraving ship within 2–5 business days. You will receive a dispatch email with track-and-trace when the parcel is on its way. Delivery is by GLS or PostNord throughout Denmark — either to your door or to the nearest parcel shop.

We offer free shipping on all orders over 599 kr. On orders under 599 kr a shipping fee is calculated at checkout. All prices include VAT.

We accept the most common payment methods — including payment cards (Visa, Mastercard) and MobilePay. All payments are processed securely via Shopify Payments. Companies wishing to pay by invoice should contact us directly at info@udlaert.dk.

Contact us as soon as possible at info@udlaert.dk if you wish to change or cancel your order. We can help as long as the order has not gone into production. Personally engraved figurines cannot be cancelled once the engraving has been carried out.

Figurines without personal engraving can be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided the product is unused and in its original packaging — in accordance with EU consumer rights. Figurines with personal engraving are custom-made and cannot normally be returned unless there is a manufacturing defect or an error on our part.

Take photos of the damage and the packaging, and contact us as soon as possible at info@udlaert.dk or via the contact form. We always find a solution — either by sending a new figurine or refunding the amount. For visible transport damage, we ask to be contacted within 48 hours of receipt.

If you experience a defect on the figurine — wrong engraving, production defect or similar — please contact us at info@udlaert.dk with a description and preferably a photo. We process all complaints quickly and find a solution. You have the right to complain under the Danish Sale of Goods Act.

Approved returns and complaints are refunded via the same payment method used for the purchase. The refund is normally processed within 3–5 business days after we have received and approved the return.

All figurines are designed and produced in Denmark with a focus on high quality and a beautiful finish. Every product undergoes finishing to ensure a consistent, solid and polished look. The figurines are made to stay on display for many years — as a tribute to the craft and to the person who completed the education.

Yes. The figurines are intended for indoor display and made with a focus on stability, detail and a finish that lasts over time. They withstand daily handling and are not fragile in normal use. We recommend indoor display and avoiding prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the colours.

No. The finished product appears as a unified, consistent figurine with a focus on professional expression, detail and cohesion. The production method is not visible on the finished product — the aesthetic expression and professional recognisability are what matter.

Yes. Companies preferring invoicing over card payment should contact us directly at info@udlaert.dk before ordering. We will find a solution that fits your procurement process — including EAN invoicing for public institutions by arrangement.

Delivery time for larger orders is agreed individually and depends on quantity, trades and whether engraving is required. Contact us in good time — especially in busy periods such as spring and late summer, when many journeyman's exams take place. We recommend contacting us at least 2 weeks before the desired delivery date for larger orders.
